We are looking for a cleaning professional to join our Maintenance Department in the position of Custodian within our Barrhead Plant at 6203 46 Street. The work schedule will follow a 5-day work week, working 8-hour day shift.
Reporting to the Finishing Plant Manager, the Custodian is responsible to perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment thought the building and the building grounds.

What You’ll Do
• Clean and care for the building and facilities to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner (i.e. vacuum all carpeted areas, dust furniture and fixtures as required, mop tile, linoleum and concrete floor areas, wash and disinfect washroom floors, toilets, hand dryers and fixtures, restock washrooms, empty waste and garbage cans, clean kitchen sinks and counters, lunchroom tables, buff floors using floor polisher, clean entrances and exit including glass, doors, and hardware, etc.)
• Operate power equipment such as snow blower, floor polisher, floor cleaner, EWP (when cleaning at heights), and other hand and power tools, including the proper maintenance and storage of
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds (around building, sidewalks, and driveways, parking area, etc.) by weeding and as needed and directed, snow blowing, shoveling and salt sprinkling activities during snowy weather
• Perform a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (painting, drywall repairs, etc.)
• Conduct monthly assigned emergency equipment inspection, document and report any issues found
• Maintain inventory and submit requests for custodial supplies
• Adhere to all company’s established procedures and policies with respect to operation, health & safety, and security
• Other duties as required

• A team player, a quick learner, and a punctual worker
• Ability to stand for a long period of time and lift to 35lbs
What You’ll Bring
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working custodial and general maintenance activities preferred
• Previous experience within manufacturing environment an asset
• Previous experience in EWP (scissor lift) operation preferred (training for recertification is offered)
• High level of attention to detail
• Good mechanical, verbal and written communication skills
