The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Mentor provides in-home, one-on-one mentorship to individuals who may be prenatally exposed to alcohol. You will support the client to build and maintain a healthy lifestyle, including developing life and social skills, while supplying support, collaboration, and system navigation across multiple sectors.

The Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP) Mentor provides in-home, one-on-one mentorship services with a focus on reducing or stopping alcohol and/or drug use during pregnancy. You will work to support women to achieve and maintain recovery while encouraging healthy, possible pregnancies. Assist in the strengthening of caregiver-child relationships, promotion of healthy childhood growth and development outcomes, and encourage safe home environments.

You will have a role in enhancing the capacity of the community to prevent Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder through awareness and prevention activities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Agency Manager, the Petroleum Bulk Fuel Truck Driver is responsible for making timely, accurate, and safe bulk fuel deliveries to UFA’s members and customers. This role has a significant impact on customer’s perceptions of UFA, as well as significant accountabilities for environmental and safety policies.  Service excellence is required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Make bulk fuel deliveries to UFA members and customers as required.   
  • Load bulk fuel onto trucks.  Follow UFA’s bulk fuel loading procedures and OH&S safety procedures to ensure fuel products are safely loaded. 
  • Unload bulk fuel at member and customer yards and tanks. Follow UFA’s bulk fuel unloading procedures and OH&S safety procedures to ensure fuel products are safely unloaded. 
  • Ensure to comply with all Transportation and OH&S regulations, as well as UFA Fleet policies on truck maintenance, driver logbooks, bulk fuel delivery load logs, and bulk fuel truck inspections. Adhere to UFA Commercial Driver expectations and policies at all times.
  • Follow and participate in the UFA EH&S program. Understand and follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure the safe handling of all bulk fuel products and the reporting of all incidents related to bulk fuel deliveries.
  • Provide customer service within UFA’s customer service guidelines, including heavy lifting on a frequent basis.
  • Assist with bulk fuel truck maintenance as required.
  • Always follow the UFA Safe Driving policies and procedures regarding the proper operation and safe handling of the fuel truck.
  • Perform other duties if required: i.e.: afterhours and weekend deliveries as required; maintain cardlock and assist with cleaning and maintenance including snow removal; assist with warehouse inventory management, assist with weekly and monthly site inspections when required, physical dipping of the Agency fuel tanks, assist with weekly packaged goods orders, loading customer orders, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Clean valid Class 3 with air brakes (with Q endorsement) Driver’s Abstract.
  • Capable of physical labor, including lifting items up to 25kg on a regular basis.
  • Capable of working at heights.
  • Previous fuel hauling experience preferred, or equivalent fluid hauling, with 3-5 years related experience.
  • Must have basic computer literacy skills
  • Petroleum background is preferred, Agricultural background desired.

  • Assist with the accurate and timely shipping and receiving of products as assigned.
  • Perform maintenance on inventory or cycle counts, as directed.
  • Ensure store, yard, warehouses, and exterior locations are clean, neat, well organized, and in compliance with UFA’s safety and operational standards.
  • In AgriBusiness, responsible for “Own the Aisle” area of assigned responsibility in store to ensure UFA merchandising and inventory standards are consistently maintained or equivalent assigned area of responsibility in UFA yard.
  • In Petroleum Operations, as directed, assist with fuel inventory management activities such as daily fuel reconciliations, fuel variance investigation, weekly physical tank dips, and dispenser meter head comparisons.  

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards or completed a Grade 12 diploma with 0 - 2 years of related experience.
  • Cash handling, computer proficiency and previous customer service experience an asset.
  • Shipping and receiving experience, as well as warehouse or yard experience an asset.
  • Agriculture/AgriBusiness or petroleum background, interest, and aptitude.
  • Entry level of product knowledge.
  • Capable of physical labour; capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
  • Must remain current with any and all required certifications, including WHMIS and TDG.

Exhibitor registration is NOW OPEN for this annual “in person” Career and Education EXPO 2021 in Whitecourt on Thursday, October 21st, 2021, from 9:30am to 3:30pm, at the Allan and Jean Millar Center.

 

There is NO COST for organizations and businesses to register for a 10 X 10 booth to showcase your career opportunities.

Registration is based on a first come first serve basis and space is limited.

 

This Career and Education EXPO is a great opportunity to recruit local job seekers from the general public, connect with youth and students from across the region, and assist with developing our current and future workforce demands.

 

The previous Career and Education EXPO hosted 50 exhibitors and 20 post secondary representatives.  

Over 1000 students from eight schools across the region, and 1200 general public, including job seekers, had an opportunity to learn about local career paths and training options.

Exhibitors who were recruiting, received over 100 resumes from job seekers.

 

Pembina Pipelines Corporation hosted a community bbq and fed over 2000 people, and will be partnering with us again this year to host another bbq.

 

The primary goal of the Career and Education EXPO is to showcase employment and career opportunities available within our region, with the hope that youth and job seekers will choose to either stay or return to this region for work, contribute to our local rural economies, and address regional labour supply and demand opportunities/challenges.

 

As an exhibitor, you will receive a free 10 by 10 booth in the Allan and Jean Millar Center fieldhouse, complimentary continental breakfast, snacks, networking lunch, an opportunity to present information regarding your organization to attendees and to showcase your organization through sponsorship.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled and able to perform rebuilding, work servicing, repairing and general maintenance on logging equipment (Bunchers, Dozers, Skidders, Hoes, Delimbers and

Processors). The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’

experience, be fully ticketed and must have fully equipped 4x4 service
